Understanding Privacy Settings & Competitive Consent in Clean Backgammon

- In-app competitive consent is mandatory solely for participating in online multiplayer.
- Website profile publication is 100% optional and can be toggled on or off at any time.
- Clean Backgammon complies with GDPR, ePrivacy, and Google User Messaging Platform (UMP).
- No personal identifiers (real name, phone, email, contacts) are ever collected for casual play.
The Two-Tier Privacy Architecture
Clean Backgammon is engineered around privacy-by-design principles. Located inside the Personalize hub under the "PRIVACY" tab, the privacy dashboard provides clear, granular controls over your competitive identity.
There are two distinct tiers of consent in the application:
1. In-App Competitive Profile Consent: Enables your nickname, avatar, and ELO rating to be transmitted over secure WebSocket connections to matched opponents during live multiplayer games.
2. Optional Public Website Publication: Governs whether your ranking and country points appear on the public cleanbackgammon.com web leaderboards.

How to Withdraw Website Publication Consent
If you love competing online and climbing the in-app ELO ladder, but prefer your stats NOT to be published on the public internet, you can simply uncheck the second checkbox ("Allow publication on cleanbackgammon.com").
Your choice is saved locally to persistent storage and synchronized to the game server. The web crawler immediately excludes your record from public search indexing.
Google UMP & GDPR European Consent Management
For players located in the European Union, European Economic Area, and United Kingdom, Clean Backgammon implements the official Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK.
This framework displays a standardized GDPR consent dialogue where you can review advertising partners, choose non-personalized ads, or revoke consent at any time from within the app settings.

What Data Is Transmitted During Online Play
During a multiplayer match, the game only communicates gameplay-essential telemetry: your selected avatar ID, your custom nickname, your national flag code, your current ELO rating, and your dice moves.
We do not read your device contacts, photo library, microphone, or precise location.
