Global ELO: The Universal Standard of Skill
In Clean Backgammon, competitive hierarchy is governed by the Elo rating system. Every player begins with a provisional rating of 1200 ELO. Winning matches increases your ELO rating, with greater point gains awarded when triumphing over higher-ranked opponents.
The Global ELO leaderboard ranks the top 50 players in the world. You can inspect it directly inside the app under "LEADERBOARDS" or via the official web portal at cleanbackgammon.com/leaderboards.
Daily & Weekly Sprint Tournaments
For players who love fast-paced competition, Clean Backgammon runs automated Daily and Weekly sprint leaderboards. The Daily leaderboard resets every 24 hours at midnight UTC, while the Weekly leaderboard tallies cumulative wins until Sunday midnight.
The Country Cup: 59 Nations Competing for Glory
The Country Cup is Clean Backgammon’s marquee esports feature. Over 59 nations compete in a perpetual world championship. When you win an online ranked match, your victory points contribute directly to your nation’s overall score.
The player with the highest ELO rating representing a nation is bestowed with the honorary title of Country Captain, prominently displayed in the national standings alongside the defending world champion.
